"Countdown to Zero" Film Released in USA

A new documentary film highlighting the dangers of nuclear weapons has been released this July in the USA and is coming soon to the UK. It was directed by Lucy Walker and produced by Lawrence Bender who also produced "An Inconvenient Truth". Global Zero provided production assistance for the film and it advocates global nuclear disarmament. This undoubtedly will be the biggest budget anti-nuclear weapons film since the bombing of Hiroshima. Watch this space.

"A World Without Nuclear Weapons: Mission Impossible"

Two leading experts visited Lancaster University to discuss the prospects for global nuclear disarmament. Sir Hugh Beach (former Chief of Army Staff) and Paul Ingram (British American Security Information Council) are key intellectual figures in the Global Zero movement. Spurred on by Obama and Medvedev's recent call for a nuclear weapon free world, they explored the practicalities and politics of this goal. They are also specialists on the current British and Iranian positions. This event was OPEN TO ALL and was part of One World Week. There was a lengthy Q&A session with some very controversial arguments from the audience. This event has been organized by Andrew Gibson a Lancaster University politics student who is actively involved in the Global Zero campaign. The lecture was filmed and is available online:
